Destroying the Green Belt to line the pockets of developers by building car-dependent suburbs is absolutely abhorrent. Taxing vacant housing; limiting the number of properties landlords can own; rent control; and vertically built, mixed use, walkable neighbourhoods with subsidized units are the real housing solutions we need in Ontario. That Doug Ford and the Conservatives are using the housing crisis as an excuse to line their pockets (and those of their developer friends) by stripping the limited protected green spaces we have is abhorrent.
