This proposal will only benefit the wealthy, destroy the environment (the aftermath of which will cost the Province more down the road) and hurt Ontarians who rent. We need to have proper rent control so new properties built after 2018 can't raise the rent above the cap every year like they do now. We need affordable housing. Rent control is something we can do right now to help the housing crisis, but time and again, this government ignores what will aid its people and honours what will harm them instead.
