Protecting the green belt is essential - especially as we fall behind on meeting environmental targets to combat climate change. What Ontarians need is high-density, affordable housing in areas that are easily accessible by public transportation so that everyday people don’t get left behind. Changing building requirements to include walkable city structures with high density to address the “missing middle”. I would much rather the province make it easier to repurpose the existing unused, already developed land in Toronto and other major cities instead of destroying such an invaluable resource.
