The green belt is protected…

The green belt is protected land for a reason. It should be maintained as such - not redesignated as development land. We all know the houses put there will not help the housing crisis as they will be multimillion dollar houses, it will force wildlife out, killing much of it and putting a huge strain on the remaining wildlife.
Sure - add to the greenbelt with the proposed Paris Galt area, but add it because it should be protected as well - NOT because you’re trying to say you’re doing something ‘right’ when taking away PROTECTED LAND in the first place to fund greed.

The housing crisis will not be solved with this. What needs to be done is using land that’s already been developed and creating proper high density housing out of that. There are plenty of abandoned stores, factories, lots, office buildings etc that can and should be repurposed rather than taking up NECESSARY land that is PROTECTED.
