The green belt is and long has been an important part of Ontario’s ecology. Designed expressly to protect habitats and provide greenspace with reach of cities. And to prevent endless sprawl.
The mandated growth here is appalling and should be stopped. There are plenty of other sustainable options for housing (e.g. Hamilton infill proposals that were rejected by the Ontario Government for no good reason).
Stop this and think hard. Do better.
