During the election, it was brought forth the plan to build on the Greenbelt. This was greatly opposed to by the people. As such, it was removed from the platform and we were promised this would not happen. And yet, here we are. This is a very bad idea and I do not support it at all. We need to preserve our vulnerable green spaces not remove them. The idea that an area with that protected space is “suitable for building” does not mean it should be done. Building on that space will still have a major impact on the more vulnerable eco systems that surround them. The wildlife as well as the vegetation will suffer or be destroyed. It is imperative that the government listens to the people and stop this proposal.
