I am strongly opposed to removing or redesignating Greenbelt land for the purpose of development. While we need more housing in Ontario, it does not need to be created by destroying valuable, environmentally crucial land. It is hard to believe that with all the challenges facing our planet, this government still doesn’t see the need to protect our green spaces.
It is appalling that Doug Ford specifically promised not to touch the Greenbelt when running for office but has decided that he will now break that promise after being elected.
