There is sufficient developable land that is outside the Greenbelt. There is sufficient developable land within the urban and suburban setting to meet the housing targets. Developers do not require this extra land, period. Who will benefit the most from releasing these lands - big time developers who have lined the pockets of the current Premier.
The only reason this land is wanted is because it requires the least amount of work to turn the biggest profit.
