We do NOT need to develop the greenbelt. It has an important ecological function. That land MUST be preserved because it acts as drainage for rainfall. What good is building a whole bunch of housing if it is just going to flood? Most of toronto is zoned for single family housing. Even increasing density gently will still provide a lot of housing for newcomers in the future.
