Maintaining the greenbelt is crucial to fighting climate change. It is short sighted decisions like developing the greenbelt that have put us in a climate crisis, and made life more difficult for the future generations. This will not help the issue of affordable housing as there is no guarantee that the houses being built here will be affordable - it is likely that it will be just the opposite. Instead why don't we try to repurpose office space in the downtown core (where housing is needed most) into affordable housing. Don't make short sighted decisions on green space that future generations can't take back!
