This plan is not in alignment with the goals of the Toronto Region Conservation Authority, or with the original intent of the Green Belt. What is the purpose of a Green Belt if any part of it can be annexed for bulldozing at any given time? This land was protected for a purpose - it needs to be kept that way.

Further, this plan does not provide housing within a sufficient timeframe to be useful in the short-term - there are no master plans or adequate servicing to the area.

The government should be focusing on (1) supporting densification development in areas already identified by providing financial support to the municipalities and regions to expand the necessary infrastructure to facilitate construction of such densification; and (2) increasing the number of full-time rentals by implementing strict rules or taxation for those with empty properties or short-term rentals.
