Hello,
It terrifies and astounds me that in the midst of a climate crisis, our province is considering the destruction of a significant portion of Ontario’s most important agricultural lands.

I appreciate that our population is growing. Rather than increasing urban sprawl, which in turn leads to construction of unnecessary roads and big box stores in proximity to new neighbourhoods, we should be focusing on higher density housing in existing communities, as well as enhancing the public transit systems in these communities.

As one of the countries with the largest carbon footprint per capita, we have a responsibility to shift our approach to development. The plan to develop over the Greenbelt is short-sighted and perpetuates consumerism and capitalism at the expense of the environment. Please do not make this grave error.
