Green space is vital to our well being and local economy. We need more trees and less pavement. There are plenty of spaces existing in cities that can be modified, reused etc for housing. Additional sprawl is unnecessary when there is so much existing space that can be reimagined to suit projected needs. Sprawl has all kinds of negative impacts, including loss of farmland and wildlife, increased car use, and neglect of older towns and cities.
