At a time when we need to protect our precious green space more than ever, to put forward a proposal to turn parts if our protected Greenbelt into housing is unfathomable. As the municipalities have made clear, there is enough available land for urban development without needing to invade the Greenbelt. Climate change is real, and possibly the most pressing issue facing the world right now. Let's be leaders in environmental protection and find ways to grow and protect at the same time. Moving forward with this proposal is short sighted and gives Ontarians the impression that you are more focused on lining the pockets of certain party supporters and less on maintaining our natural resources for the future.
