I do not support this! The existing greenbelt boundaries should not be changed. Conservation areas in Ontario are one of the amazing features we have. It allows us to have a diverse and unique ecosystems, and provides beautiful areas for ontarians to get outside and enjoy nature and physical activity. Not to mention that it will disrupt ecosystems and displace and kill many animals, fish, insects, trees, grasses, etc. If we want to protect the Earth and slow climate change then we NEED the greenbelt to remain green.

If Doug Ford is looking to solve housing- this won’t do it. These houses will definitely be too much for average home buyers and will benefit his lackies that are positioned along the proposed highway 413.

A possible solution for affordable housing is to look at empty offices and housing in Toronto, and convert that into high density low incoming housing. And I’m sure there are many other towns along the greenbelt that could offer the same benefit.

It’s pretty sad to think Ontario is proposing to destroy the nature areas I grew up going to with my family and still enjoy today. And I’m not that old.
