The Greenbelt was created…

The Greenbelt was created for good reasons, and these short-sighted proposed amendments will weaken it. I strongly urge the government to reconsider. The Ontario government’s own Housing Affordability Task Force said, earlier this year: “A shortage of land isn’t the cause of the problem […] Land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts.” Analysts agree there is enough available land within existing urban boundaries to meet housing needs for the next 50 years, without touching the Greenbelt. Please don't add urban sprawl to our precious Greenbelt! It would be to the detriment of many, and to the benefit of very few.
