I am 100% opposed to any building on greenbelt land in Ontario. We should be reducing our immigration targets, especially in ONTARIO, so that we do not need to encroach on our important greenbelt areas. Giving up greenbelt at the expense of housing is wrong!! There are many other areas in northern Ontario where you could build homes without devastating southern Ontario greenbelt areas further. There is also an abundance of land in many of Canada's western provinces where we could better absorb the strain of enhanced immigration. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. We need forests and farmland but we seem to care more about houses than producing food and caring for our wildlife. I am not against immigration since we're all basically immigrants, but when you care more about immigration than the Canadians that have been here for generations, then something is drastically wrong.
