In 2018 the premier reassured the province that he would not touch the green belt. Since then, developers have been purchasing land along the green belt that should have been useless to them, at prices that would be lower than if they were zoned for development. This decision needs to be placed on hold until a thorough investigation can be completed of the provincial governments ties to these developers, and any possible personal gains by Ontario politicians that may have occurred or are set to occur as a result of this action.
