A clear message to our provincial government.
Leave the Greenbelt alone! We are in a climate crisis and now the conservative government wants to open up the Greenbelt to build more homes. I’m sure there are other areas that could be used to build homes that would not destroy 7400 acres of the Greenbelt, which helps requester CO2.
It’s not acceptable to continue to destroy ecosystems for what we believe will benefit humans. Everything is interconnected and we are destroying the living plants and animals that call this planet home as well! One planet, one home!
Why do we project having 2 million immigrants coming to Canada by 2031? Climate change? Jobs? Provide good paying jobs to the people that already call this country home and you won’t need to let so many immigrants into this country! As well, climate change is a global problem that won’t be solved by moving people to different parts of the planet. One planet, one home!
Deal with the climate crisis and stop destroying what natural space and ecosystems that currently remain, which contribute to a healthier planet overall! I’m sure if environmentalists and Indigenous Peoples were consulted, they would not support the plan to build on 7400 acres of the Greenbelt. Mother Earth does not have infinite resources for us to consume! One planet, one home! Let’s start taking care of her because our existence depends on it!
My final thoughts. Has any consideration been made about how our actions today will affect the next seven generations? Making money will not matter much when the planet is destroyed in the name of progress. Doesn’t sound like the conservative government wants to conserve our one planet, our one home!
Sincerely,
A beyond concerned citizen, sharing the planet with all other living things.
