I cannot fathom why we would infringe on the Greenbelt, knowing everything we do about climate change.
1. We know that Canada is warming faster than the rest of the world.
2. We know that more viruses and diseases will become more prevalent as our waterways warm up.
3. We know that warmer water puts species that live in these waterways at risk.
3. We know that water scarcity is an issue seen across the globe.
Green spaces and trees in particular, moderate temperatures, maintain habitats in balance, purify the air we breathe, contribute to human well-being, and protect our waterways.
Find other ways to build affordable housing but leave the greenbelt untouched.
