This seems ill-advised, environmentally short-sighted, and nakedly capitalistic/opportunistic for Doug Ford to curry more favour with the developers he’s in bed with. I’d rather the green belt be left alone.

Instead, the Ontario government should be working to de-commodify housing so that the housing we DO have available in this province is actually affordable, and the market is not determined by multiple-property owners driving up prices to maintain profits during a housing crisis.
