I am in support of the proposed lease extension for 2 years in order to come to an agreement with Rondeau Cottagers on an alternative to the traditional 21 year leases that will provide a permanent long term occupancy solution.
I have 2 siblings that currently have cottages on leased land at Rondeau and have not seen any evidence of their seasonal residence affecting wildlife, species at risk, water quality of wells and septic systems, non-indigenous plants & shrubs.
One sibling & spouse saved their entire working careers in order to purchase a cottage at Rondeau. They love everything about the Rondeau Park and plan to spend their remaining years at their cottage in the summer & fall and sharing their experiences with the many generations of family members. The grandchildren are expected to take over the cottages for the generations to come, and protect and treat the land with respect for those many’s future years. Thank you
