Cancelling cap and trade is pure folly. There is a price for polluting, it’s called dirty water, dirty air and poisoned land. Without these humans cannot exist. Cities around the world are choking on vehicle emissions and Toronto will only get worse with more people moving in with fossil fueled cars, trucks, buses, trains, etc. Business and the public, can no longer treat the air and water as a toilette. Cap and trade put a line in a business financial showing a cost to polluting. And any smart business will try to reduce their costs. Ergo, where possible, they would reduce their use of fossil fuel, along with services and products that used fossil fuel replacing them with cleaner solutions. The money raised by cap and trade would be used to create cleaner solutions. This would create new jobs in the green economy. How simple is that? And it was working! And now you want to spend millions of tax payer dollars to just destroy it. And even more millions to sue our Federal government over a carbon tax?! You are bonkers. Instead you think buck a beer and reducing the cost of gas will in the short term, keep the stupid people happy? I did not vote for you. I won’t ever vote for you. I will tell everyone I know not to vote for you. I just hope it is not too late.
