Dear Mr. Ford, I voted for…

Dear Mr. Ford,

I voted for you thinking you would be bringing in policies that would be "For The People". With this Bill 4, what will you be giving to people? Health problems, smoggy air, polluted water, contaminated earth.

You will be destroying all progress we have made towards a cleaner future for our children. Do you have children? Do you want your legacy to be the increase of smog days with pollution so thick that your visibility is a few meters? Please do not be short-sighted and greedy, hoping for short-term monetary profits that you will get from industries. Our most valuable assets are the ones we all share: air, water, earth. Please think about the future of our children and let's all try to leave the earth in a better state than when we inherited it from our parents.

Please do not be the Once-ler, Premier Doug Ford, otherwise I will have to start off bedtime stories with: "Way back in the days when the grass was still green, and the pond was still wet, and the clouds were still clean."

I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint.

I want Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050.

I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.
