I am writing to you in my capacity as Cemetery Coordinator for the Halton Peel Branch of Ontario Ancestors (Ontario Genealogical Socieity). My concern regarding Bill 23 is the possible damage that may be done to our unregistered cemeteries in Ontario. This is a concern that has already been reported to the Government by the Ontario Historical Society. I stand with the Society in its request that the Government of Ontario protect our unregistered cemeteries throughout Ontario by immediately declaring all cemeteries as heritage designated, in order to protect them from destruction.
