I am not a fan of the Liberals, but the Conservative proposals to dismantle established climate policies are regressive and uninformed. Climate change is real. We, as a society, have an obligation to care for, not destroy, the environment that is necessary for health and all life.

We must have climate change policies with incentives and deterrents along with measurable outcomes. We need to do this in Ontario and we need to participate with the world (Paris Accord) and with Canada federally. Set partisan politics aside!

Bill 4 and other proposals to eliminate or significantly alter climate policy are irresponsible and short-sighted. Moving toward a more sustainable future would be good for people, health and the economy.

Mr Ford would be best advised to educate himself about the environment rather than spending his time acting like Donald Trump.
