I fully support the extension of the Rondeau leases for an additional two years to provide more time to discuss a long-term option. Cottages and the local community deserve appropriate time to be consulted before any major changes are made.

Further, the department should move forward with the commitment made by the minister to fully sell the lots to the municipality so that the lots can remain a part of the area into the future. There are opportunities in that process to increase environmental protections and that the natural landscape is restored, while also allowing cottages to remain.
