It will increase costs to municipalities for extending already stretched services for years to come without the equivalent tax base to sustain it. The province will not provide additional funding, or will continue to download more of the costs in maintaining these areas.

Additionally - it appears that the current government has provided developers with insider information on the expansion zones and have allowed them to skirt fair market price, as well as ingratiate themselves with an upcoming windfall. This alone should stop this expansion until an investigation , or the province should reclaim these lands purchased questionably through eminent domain.
