Canada and Ontario need a robust environmental protection policy. The evidence surrounds us about the negative impact we are having on the environment and we need to stop pretending. I want a climate plan that is going to reduce emissions, help people and businesses save energy and create new jobs. Economic incentives are powerful drivers and corporations and individual households need to be held responsible for their polluting behaviour. This means putting a price on pollution.
We need to have legally binding targets and hard targets to bring us in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
We can do this, we have the technology and the people to propel us to a clean energy future - we need government to pass the legislation that will be the gold standard in achieving this.
