This proposal is an absolute travesty, and I am ashamed it has been brought forth by a supposedly representative government. We will only recognize the profound ecological damage done by removing Greenbelt protections decades after the fact, when our food supply fails to meet our population's needs, and the delicate microbiomes have irreparably collapsed. Time and again, Southern Ontario has been sold off to corporate interests under the guise of affordable housing, but building sprawl is NOT the solution. Fill in the "missing middle" with densification, walkable neighbourhoods, and robust public transit, and move away from the car-dependence that eats away our society like a cancer. Build UP not OUT.
