This plan is ill-conceived…

This plan is ill-conceived and places undue pressure on our already fragile environment. We need to preserve the Green Belt in its entirety. The proposed plans contribute to urban sprawl and do not effectively add enough housing to compensate for the environmental loss. Sprawl will further exacerbate environmental stress (e.g., through increased commute times) and economic pressure on municipalities that will be forced to provide extensive infrastructure that is expensive to build and even more expensive to maintain. The proposed homes in no way can be considered affordable for the majority of Ontario residents who are struggling to find housing that does not compromise their financial stability or viability. The proposed plan ignores expert advice that was previously provided and flies in the face of reason and sensible environmental stewardship. There are other effective solutions to the housing crisis.
