The Greenbelt was to be protected in perpetuity. This protection was put on the land for important enviromental reasons. How short sighted it is to lift this protection. Not to protect our precious Grade 1 farmland, not to protect our watershed, and our green-space, especially now when we have such a crisis with climate change.
This is not a responsible way to deal with the housing . I do not believe that the delevopers involved have any intention of building the affordable housing that is in need. They will build expensive homes that the average working person can not afford. The sprawl that will be created by this decision is a
disgrace.
Please do not let this happen to our precious land in ONTARIO.
