I am deeply disturbed by the precedent this plan sets. The Greenbelt was to be protected from development forever. Once that principle is breached, as this Act does, it becomes easier and easier to continue to degrade the Greenbelt.

I'm also disturbed by the apparent conflict of interest uncovered by the Toronto Star and the Narwhale investigations whereby developer cronies of the current Premier and his party would stand to gain substantially by this change. It does not pass the "smell" test of being "for the people" of Ontario.

Finally, this change is allegedly about providing solutions to Ontario's housing crisis. But lots of experts say this will do little to nothing to help with housing. Available land is not the issue. So what is this act for except to enrich the Premier and his cronies?
