I am completely against reducing the Greenbelt to build houses. Building houses on the Greenbelt is absolutely wrong as it takes away significant and precious ecological and agricultural resources that can never ever be recovered again. To build on the Greenbelt would be a quick and irresponsible fix that will not make housing more affordable. It will benefit developers financially and negatively impact the province, its people, and the environment for generations to come. I recall the government committing to protecting the Greenbelt, not paving over it. I would ask that the government honour its commitment and continue to protect the Greenbelt.
