Dear Ministers Clark, Smith, and Piccini,
We appreciate the opportunity to provide comments on the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan (ERO 019-6216).
On behalf of WWF-Canada, I am submitting this feedback (attached) on behalf of our team of scientists and conservationists who have significant expertise in the evaluation, research, and threats to biodiversity and climate change in Ontario.
WWF-Canada is gravely concerned about the proposed changes to the Greenbelt Plan, which follow on the recent approval of Bill 23. In the attached letter you will find WWF-Canada’s primary list of concerns on the proposed changes to the Greenbelt Plan.
We simply cannot delay action in protecting biodiversity and fighting climate change any longer. We ask that you take the time to consider the long-term impacts of these changes to the Greenbelt for the health of nature, people, and the planet.
