The Greenbelt needs to be protected at all costs. Taking land away from the Greenbelt is moving backwards when we should be working towards protecting more land without taking away what is already protected. The Greenbelt gives us ecological balance in an already unstable environment. As the threat of climate change is now becoming even more apparent, we need protected lands to grow food, provide habitats for many species that our food systems rely on, and refuge from busy urban environments that cause a lot of stress to both people and animals.

No one can afford housing these days and I don't believe that new development will help the housing crisis. Destroying protected land to solve the housing crisis is not a solution, as it will further cause environmental issues that we already face. Solving one problem, by increasing another is not a stable foundation.

I want to believe that our government will do the right thing. I hope the parties elected will do their duty to protect people and environment. Please don't forget that there is no society, no support for the people without a healthy environment and ecosystems for humans to live in. I hope the government sees this clearly and is not instead motivated my greed and profit. Do the right thing. Keep the Greenbelt protected, and find much more sustainable solutions to help people find stable housing.
