Mr. Ford,
The Greenbelt and Conservation Authorities were established to protect ecologically sensitive areas such as wetlands, floodplains and forests as well as some prime farmland. This was done years ago to ensure - 1 - that these assets will still be available for our children and grandchildren to enjoy, and - 2 - that houses and residents won't be endangered by floods caused by increasingly violent weather. (remember hurricane Hazel in 1954 when many homes were destroyed on flood plains in Toronto.
Now you want to ignore the progress and planning and turn the clocks back 70 years just to help your developer buddies. Do what's right for the rest of the people and protect the environment. Thank you.
