This is a short-sighted, misguided, and terrible plan that Ontarians will have to live with the consequences for decades to come. Many experts and advocacy groups have spoken out against the proposed changes, supported by data and in depth analysis showing that this is an ineffective and unnecessary step to solve the housing crisis in Ontario. Additionally, the revelation that developers and party donors bought up Greenbelt land, including in the period shortly before the public announcement of the proposed changes, raises some serious ethical and potential legal concerns. These must be addressed prior to any further action on the Greenbelt. Please listen to the experts and but the interests and future of all Ontarians first and uphold the promise that was made to protect the Greenbelt. Thank you.
