While I agree with adding lands to the greenbelt, I DO NOT agree with removing and/or re-designating some of the existing lands. Removing existing lands are the regressive, thoughtless actions of a government that cannot see the critical importance of green spaces and healthy ecologies, not just now, but for the future of this province, country, and planet.

We need this land - for a healthy environment, for healthy animals, for healthy people, and for food production. In addition, these spaces are:

- the only access to greenspace for most GTA residents AND the only available space for wildlife in the GTA
- critical to cooling our environments
- critical to our quality of life - including air quality, mental health, and physical health
- critical to maintaining water quality and drainage (wetlands do not make good building areas!!)

Moreover, building on these lands will not equate with affordable/accessible housing. It's expensive: there is no existing infrastructure (roads, sewers, schools, electricity, water, transit). This puts pressure to increase development charges and/or taxes. This makes housing more expensive. It's more efficient to build in serviced areas. If this government is really serious about housing, it would be advocating building up, not out.

Do the right thing and stop destroying green spaces and healthy ecologies.
