I don NOT support any aspect of this legislation. There are many options for expanding the housing stock without infringing on this land. This part of Ontario is crucial for agricultural sustainability and the environmental cost the ensuing sprawl is staggering. Worse yet the components of the bill that download infrastructure costs to municipalities will be disastrous for future generations. Fiscally, environmentally, and politically the bill passes the buck to future generations. In that regard, the legislation is also cowardly in that the current government will not have to pay the price for their short-sighted objectives.
