Tomorrow is the last day to enter comments into the Ontario governments consultation on their amendments to the Greenbelt.

If you're angry that the government is taking money from land developers to plow over our valuable farm and ecological lands I implore you to take a few minutes and let your thoughts be known. We will not get this land back after strip housing developments have been build over them. It's now or never.

Consultation ends at 11:59pm Dec 4th (tomorrow). Act now. Link at the bottom.

Here is what I wrote;

"Hello, I'm writing to express my disgust in the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan.

It was promised by your government that these protected lands would remain protected. You are now breaking your promise to the citizens of Ontario.

Beyond broken promises, the citizens of Ontario overwhelmingly do not want these lands to be developed. In my city of Hamilton, the city council voted AGAINST expanding the urban boundary into these lands after much consultation with the public. You are now trying to FORCE citizens to bend to your will by ordering Hamilton to expand its boundary. That is not democracy, that is autocracy.

There is one group of people that would like you to make this amendment, land developers that donated large sums to your election campaign.

Not only are these actions unethical, but I'm hoping that they are proven illegal. This kind of public government corruption cannot stand in a democracy such as Canada's.

If your government makes these amendments, not only will it be throwing away valuable farm and ecological lands at a time when Ontarians need them most, but it will also cement your governments place in history as one of the most corrupt. Your legacy will be that of disaster.

You are elected officials and as such are responsible to the citizens of this province. The fact that you are ignoring these citizens and their democratic rights is horrendous.

You need to end these proposed amendments and leave the Greenbelt lands for the citizens of Ontario, like you promised to do."
