The greenbelt it vital not only to wild animals and native species, it is vital to Ontario's watershed and food production. Carving a highway through it and developing suburbs will not solve the issues that they are claiming to. 30 second trip savings and unaffording suburban homes will do nothing but purpetuate money in the pockets of developers. The land of the greenbelt is protected because of what it does for humans and nature, it is not there to be taken by humans and destroyed.
