Ontario's wetlands, consisting of swamps, bogs and fens, are vitally important, now more than ever, as they sequester massive amounts of greenhouse gases. The destruction of these wetlands only serves to further accelerate the climate crisis that we are now in.

The destruction of the wetlands also means the destruction of numerous species. As these species disappear, food webs are disrupted and fall apart, leading to a domino effect of destruction to our province's ecosystems.

The acquisition of the properties on the Greenbelt, which are now slated for development, have been purchased in a wholly corrupt and illegal manner. This matter should be investigated by the proper authorities before the commencement of any development on these lands.

Lastly, proper public consultation about the amendments to the Greenbelt Plan have not taken place. The comments posted on this site do not replace the need for proper public consultation.
