The proposed amendments to the green belt are counter to the Ontario’s Housing Affordability Task Force 2022 report. This report stated that a shortage of land isn’t the cause of Ontario’s housing problem and that Greenbelts, environmentally sensitive areas and farmland must be protected. I am calling on the provincial government to protect the green belt, as the environments there cannot be replaced once lost.
