I am a concerned citizen living in Pickering. I do not agree with this proposal from the Ontario government to remove protected land of the Green Belt under a 2005 legislation.
- Ford emphasized in his campaign he was Pete tong the Green Belt.
- Developers have been acquiring protected land since 2020. How come a private entity can buy protected land? It’s clear there was a plan to remove environmental protection to the land since they started to acquire lands.
- climate change is a problem with strong issue for population and food stability. Current location of Green Belt helps to clean fresh air for the GTA and food sourcing within 100KM.
As a result, I do agree with this proposal.
