The Greenbelt was created to protect prime agriculture and environmentally sensitive area from urban sprawl. To rezone part of the Greenbelt and use this land to fulfill a housing commitment or put in a new highway is extremely shortsighted, and not protecting the future of the younger generations in Ontario. The province needs to come up with more creative solutions without touching the Greenbelt.
