As a lifelong resident of Southern Ontario, I am deeply disturbed by this proposal to destroy priceless land in the Greenbelt, an area that has always been protected for good reason. Its importance to our ecosystem and to agriculture in the province should be protected. I am deeply disappointed that private developers stand to profit off of the destruction of nature in Ontario. We are in a climate crisis, and this proposal is antithetical to the actions we need to take to survive in Ontario for generations to come. We cannot afford to be this shortsighted. If this proposal passes, it will be remembered as a huge mistake with long lasting, damaging consequences. I reject these changes to the Greenbelt and deeply wish that they not go forward.
