It's outrageous that the provincial government is trying to tamper with the Greenbelt.
We in Hamilton made it perfectly clear we want to STOP SPRAWL.
How many ways do you need to hear it?
We want to protect prime farmland.
We want to protect our wetlands, forests and other environmentally sensitive areas for future generations.
And we certainly want these to be freely accessible to everyone! No private parks!
We want more urban infill - development in city limits - with a good amount of affordable housing in that mix.
We want government to think progressively about the climate crisis and to stop building monster homes on oversized estates in sensitive habitats.
We want the Hamilton Conservation Authority to have teeth, to be able to protect every square inch of those lands for future generations.
We want you to respect the waterways.
We want you to listen to the democratic process not your friends and cronies.
Here's a little bird in your ear: people are fuming mad that you're ignoring them.
We already voted NO to touching the Greenbelt...
We consider these proposed changes an absolute violation of the democratic process.
