Being a resident in Ontario, opening up the greenbelt for development is a wrong move. What needs to be done, is hold builders accountable . Many builders are never penalized for being late on contracts, or for never finishing projects. Right now there is labour shortage in the trades. Providing more land to build more will not help that.
Right now when you look out from the CN tower, what you see is 80% of the most fertile land in the area, and it is already developed. Covering more houses on the land that is may help the housing issues, more will only increase the food issues.
The greenbelt is necessary to keep our only planet alive. If we keep building on sensitive lands, there will be no point in making houses because there will be no people or planet to build for.
