I am writing to register my disagreement with ANY of the greenbelt being used for housing. This will ruin the effectiveness of the entire designated area; its only going to work if it stays intact. I do not appreciate a government LYING to the public and allowing the sale of lands designated for agricultural purposes to be used for housing.. There.is lots of land available for housing already. I live near Eglinton West in Toronto where there is so much room for mainstreet development, 5 or 6 stories with retail on the ground floor and housing above. This is intensification in areas where the services are already provided, and leaving agricultural land for farming which will provide local food for city people. This should NOT be given up for the sake of compensating wealthy landowners who have donated to a political campaign. That's corruption. For the sake of Ontarians now and in the future this land must remain undeveloped. The quality of our water depends on watershed protection of the headwaters - and this plan, if allowed to go forward will compromise that.
